About School on Wheels
Cheryl Opper, Executive Director, founded School on Wheels of Massachusetts in April of 2004. She was inspired when she read a magazine article about School on Wheels of California, founded by Agnes Stevens. Stevens saw homeless children on the streets during school hours and wanted to provide educational services for them. School on Wheels of Indiana soon followed. School on Wheels of Massachusetts is the 3rd program in the country. We are 100% privately funded through individuals, civic organizations, businesses and foundations.
