About Horizons for Homeless Children
Horizons for Homeless Children works to improve the lives of young children who experience homelessness and help their families to succeed. We accomplish this by providing high quality early education and opportunities for play, comprehensive family support services, advocacy on behalf of young children experiencing homelessness and training and technical assistance for other providers with similar objectives. At Horizons for Homeless Children, we help children learn how to play, to share, to read, and to enjoy exploring their worlds. We help parents learn how to be nurturing and involved in the growth and development of their children, and help them learn and grow through job training, GED and college courses. We help to stabilize families so that they can weather any crisis, and thus help to break the cycle of homelessness that too often occurs. Horizons for Homeless Children improves the lives of 3,000 young children who experience homelessness through early education and opportunities for play, every year. Today, 1 in 45 children are currently homeless in the U.S. They need our help. Together, we can make a difference.
