About Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Division of Infectious Diseases
The Division of Infectious Disease at Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH) is under the Department of Medicine and is an affiliate of Harvard Medical School (HMS). We provide the highest quality patient care and exceptional consultative service to the BWH community while advancing the hospital’s goals of fostering innovative biomedical research and teaching. The division comprises a diversified group of clinicians, clinical and laboratory investigators, epidemiologists, and social scientists.
Our Mission
The mission of the Division is to provide excellent inpatient and outpatient care and consultative services to the BWH patient and healthcare communities; to teach clinical infectious diseases to our medical students and postgraduate fellows; to create educational materials that widely disseminate knowledge of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases; and to conduct creative basic biomedical laboratory, patient-oriented and population-based research to develop effective approaches reducing the global burden of infectious and infection-related diseases.
